Things I Can't Draw

For some reason, as long as I can remember, I have never been able to draw horses. Here are some fast sketches I made, to prove this. Of particular enjoyment is the distinctly un-horsey mutant monstrosity in the bottom right of the page.
Urrrrgh.

Next in this possible series? Cars.

Germanotta

Hello! Here is a wee bit of a picture I am currently working on for Prefix, illustrating the song 'Monster' by Lady Gaga. As per usual, my scanner is not getting the colours right, but ocht! I won't let that bother me if you don't.

(I am letting it bother me)

Sprung

Hello! The rate that I update things on this blog has been pretty atrocious, I think we can all agree. All four of us? Five?
Perhaps I should do something about that?
Yes.
Well, here's a version of a cover I made for the spring issue of Yuck n' Yum, which is an excellent arts zine based in Dundee, which you should all read and cherish and kiss.
This picture says 'spring' as it has springy eyes and also flowers and also a sort of rabbit skull, in a way. SPRING.
Not sure how text will fit on it, or if it is even suitable for a cover, but I thought I'd share, likes.

Judge a Book, Draw the Cover

Today I was given the idea to draw a cover for the book 'Friction' by Joe Stretch, despite having never read the thing, and being only dimly aware of it. Here is the result.
Might do this sort of thing again?
I can do what I like.
Within reason.

REAL GUTS

Hello! I am Paul Jon Milne, and I am an illustrator, in theory. This is my new sketchblog (should that be one word or two? I do not know), and it is where I'll be posting the various bits and pieces of art I knock together during the course of my week. Expect skulls and sad things, maybe? Perhaps some shoes?

Let's find out, together.

Forever.

In love.

P.S. My 'proper' website can be found at http://www.paulmilne.co.uk/ (fully paid up until the end of the year, folks!)

P.P.S. Many thanks to Reggie Chamberlain-King for the title!
