Here is a picture I am working on for myself (or for you? If you have money?) of a matador sort of guy and a kind of bull. It is not yet finished, but it will be soon! I like drawing, I think it is a not bad way to spend my time in this stinking Tory country.

Wasp Your Face In My Sink

I've had this image in my head recently, of a man with jars embedded in his chest, full of wasps or bees or something? Y'know? And and and he's, like, unscrewing the jar, and the wasps/bees are flying out, and they have human faces, and the guy is like all "Oh I am loving this" as he convulses with pleasure, and he's not noticing that it's hurting him, like, a lot? Yeah? One day I might draw this? Or make it into a song, as I began to do on a wander earlier on in the day.

Are we still cool?

Can we still hang?

All Those Summer Purrties

I did this incredibly quickly, while attempting to draw a 'cute cat' for someone's birthday.

Sadly, this is not the actual image used on the card itself.

Art is full of tiny tragedies, and no mistake.

Speaking of 'tragedies', you owe yourself a download of this song.

Yes/No Party

Cripes! Here is a basic black and white drawing that will turn into a hideous colourful mess, all going well? It's much like everything else I've ever done, but that does not mean it is not fun to produce. Plus: DEAD HOTT.

Yuck Hoc

Up there is a poster I made for a club that didnae go ahead, due to some sort of management changeover. Grrrngh. Enjoy!

And above, here, is a proposed cover for the summer issue of Yuck n' Yum. Is it good? I hope so?

Hello! I finally have a scanner and a PC and internet and all the things a growing jerk needs. Here is an unfinished picture, to celebrate!

It's All Getting A Bit Slaaneshi

Here is one version of an image I drew for a Bandwidth podcast, in which the brief was 'sexy girl with headphones', which, being a modern lefty human partyboy, I felt a bit uncomfortable about. Why draw 'sexy' when you can draw 'KirbyDrag slurking brainhair', though?

Before drawing this, I did some sketches and that, and here is a page of them! PLANNZ.

Around about the same time, I caught a hideous case of mania regarding the release of Super Street Fighter IV, so I drew a quick picture of my pal and yours, Blanka.

And to round off this blog post, have a dose of prime recent autopilot.

Late Linksers

Oh man! I have had no internet access due to moving hoose! I have made no updates! I must change this!

Here is me being interviewed, for Culture Northern Ireland! I hope I am not awful, but perhaps am?

Here is the Doctor Who-themed article I illustrated for Bandwidth! Good or bad? Only time and eyes can decide!

What If Gordon Ramsay Played The Joker?

Then he might look something like this drawing of Matt Smith, the new Doctor Who, that I am working on for Bandwidth, eh?
Matt Smith is a lot of fun to draw, though. He has a compelling face. I have not seen any of the new Doctor Who episodes starring him, yet, as they are on on a saturday evening.
Around the broadcast time, I am likely to be drinking an awful ale and staring blankly into the middle distance, which is, of course, an excellent alternative to doing something I actively enjoy (watching science fiction).

Things I Can't Draw

For some reason, as long as I can remember, I have never been able to draw horses. Here are some fast sketches I made, to prove this. Of particular enjoyment is the distinctly un-horsey mutant monstrosity in the bottom right of the page.

Next in this possible series? Cars.

Hello! Here is a wee bit of a picture I am currently working on for Prefix, illustrating the song 'Monster' by Lady Gaga. As per usual, my scanner is not getting the colours right, but ocht! I won't let that bother me if you don't.

(I am letting it bother me)

Hello! The rate that I update things on this blog has been pretty atrocious, I think we can all agree. All four of us? Five?
Perhaps I should do something about that?
Well, here's a version of a cover I made for the spring issue of Yuck n' Yum, which is an excellent arts zine based in Dundee, which you should all read and cherish and kiss.
This picture says 'spring' as it has springy eyes and also flowers and also a sort of rabbit skull, in a way. SPRING.
Not sure how text will fit on it, or if it is even suitable for a cover, but I thought I'd share, likes.

Judge a Book, Draw the Cover

Today I was given the idea to draw a cover for the book 'Friction' by Joe Stretch, despite having never read the thing, and being only dimly aware of it. Here is the result.
Might do this sort of thing again?
I can do what I like.
Within reason.

Hello! I am Paul Jon Milne, and I am an illustrator, in theory. This is my new sketchblog (should that be one word or two? I do not know), and it is where I'll be posting the various bits and pieces of art I knock together during the course of my week. Expect skulls and sad things, maybe? Perhaps some shoes?

Let's find out, together.

In love.

P.S. My 'proper' website can be found at (fully paid up until the end of the year, folks!)

P.P.S. Many thanks to Reggie Chamberlain-King for the title!
